Obituary of Eleanor E Popow

Eleanor Popow (née Connor) died peacefully on Saturday 4/18/15 at bishop McCarthy residence where she had resided for the past 4 years. She was surrounded by her nuns as they prayed for her as she took her last breath. Eleanor was predeceased by her beloved "Sweetie Pie" Frank Popow in 2000 after 53 years of marriage. Together they owned and managed Stella's Market in the Reading Terminal Market for many years. Her baking was famous, especially her chocolate chip cookies which were rated best in the city during their time there. She was a talented artist who started her own ceramics business in the 1980s but her biggest joy was creating beautiful porcelain dolls and things for her beloved nieces and nephews. Together they traveled the world visiting several countries in the 60s and 70s with family members. She is survived by nieces Marci Rustici, Kelly Connor, Kathy Clark (Bob), Janice Goldis (Martin) and nephews Leo Andreoli (Kathy), Charles Cristella (nancy), Michael Popow, sisters in law Maryann Connor and Pat Popow and a brother John Connor plus several great nieces and nephews.
