Obituary of Edward D Steelman Jr.

Edward D. Steelman Jr., 79, lifetime resident of Vineland, New Jersey, went to join his family in heaven June 23, 2015. Veteran teacher with the Vineland Board of Education for 36 years, Mr. Steelman retired after a career that included positions at Rossi School, Cunningham School, Landis Junior High School, and Barse School. Ed was an avid gardener, an enthusiast of British Mysteries and was also a shell and turtle figurine collector. Along with his wife Nancy, they sailed the Chesapeake Bay for seven years. He created many fine miniature oil paintings on silk and had displayed them in the Vineland Library. He then put them in a tiny museum in his home. Mr. Steelman is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy G. (Whitman) Steelman of Vineland, daughter Sherry Adler of Mission Viejo, California, son, David Steelman of Vineland, daughter Laura Callahan of Spring Lake, New Jersey, and daughter Cynthia Gifford of Woodbridge, Virginia, as well as by his 10 grandchildren. A church visitation will be held on Friday. June 26, 2015, from 9am to 10am followed by a Memorial Funeral Liturgy at 10 am from Christ The Good Shepherd Parish - Church Of Saint Isidore The Farmer, 1655 Magnolia Road, Vineland, NJ Final Disposition is private.
